Mercy Flight Central Earns Full CAMTS Accreditation

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Mercy Flight Central has been awarded full accreditation for their air medical helicopter service.

The accreditation status is awarded to those organizations that meet the rigorous aviation and medical standards set by the Commission, officials said.

Mercy Flight is now one of 162 national and international programs with this accreditation, and one of only two in New York State, officials said.

“This accreditation underscores our commitment to integrity, compassion and excellence,” said Jeff Bartkoski, Mercy Flight Central President and CEO.

“I am incredibly proud of the employees who helped to make this significant undertaking a success.”

Mercy Flight was founded in 1992 to provide air transport for emergency medical patients. They have bases in Rome, Canandaigua and Marcellus, and are able to transport within a 150-mile radius of each base. Officials said they have four helicopters in total, with at least one chopper and crew at the ready at each base 24/7.
