Man Shoots at Firefighters Trying to Rescue Him from House Fire

A homeowner went from a burning house to the jailhouse within a couple of hours after he shot at firefighters through his front door.

According to 11 Alive, DeKalb Fire responded to a house fire on Saturday afternoon. They saw the man, identified as 23-year-old Treavon Harris, standing on his porch.

Firefighters told Harris to unlock the door so they could get in and he could get to safety.

Instead of opening the locked door, Harris began firing bullets through it. He then jumped off his second story balcony in his underwear and laid on the lawn as he waited for police.

Harris told officers he was shooting out the locked door so the smoke could seep out.

He was arrested and charged with obstruction of a firefighter.
