WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – An flight paramedic for AirCare reached a pretty big milestone recently.
AirCare said Steve Carey, a flight paramedic for AirCare II in Waterloo, reached 1,000 patient care flights.
AirCare II has been a part of Waterloo’s medical community since 1988 when the University of Iowa pushed their second medical helicopter into service.
The helicopter was first based at Schoitz Hospital (Now the Kimball Ridge Center). It then would move to Covenant Medical Center (Now MercyOne-Waterloo).
AirCare II recently moved to a new base at the Waterloo Regional Airport.
