What matters most?

What one thing keeps us the safest?

Is there a way to leverage experience to our advantage every single time?

FCU We Fly Faster Banner

Something simple and easy to do.

A  way to bring our best Emergency Medical Services (EMS) game, every game.

Because if there is  such a way, it would be important enough to want to use or follow it all the time.  A guiding principle we factor into all operations.

Something we feel so strongly about that we call it…..

The number one rule of Flight Safety Network.

Sure, you can make some pretty good arguments for technology, situational awareness, common sense and knowing your job well; after all, each can save your life under the right circumstances.  But none of these rate number one on our list.

So what is the #1 rule of Flight Safety Network?

Simple.  Include the whole team.

Did you ever hear this saying?

“None of us are as smart as all of us.”

It’s a Japanese proverb.

A proverb that hits the nail right on the head for us.  It’s our reason for making team the number one rule of Flight Safety Network.  Together everyone achieves more is especially true when it comes to safety.

If you’ve worked EMS for any period of time…..

You already know it takes a whole village to operate safely.

You already know it’s kind of scary how often you’re forced to rely on other people for your own safety.

The key, of course, is to operate as safely as possible as often as possible.

So who is Flight Safety Network?

In broad terms, anyone who can influence the safe outcome of an air medical flight.

In real world terms, me and you.  People are Flight Safety Network.  And they all matter.

From the EMT who finds herself the first on scene of an automobile accident, to the firefighters and first responders who secure the scene, to aircraft mechanics who do daily aircraft inspections to the 911 dispatcher who takes initial calls for help.  All are on the Flight Safety Network team.  You can find a more complete list here.

Do you know someone who would make a great addition to the Flight Safety Network team?  If you do, tell them about us.  An easy and fun way to get started is with our free eBook “The Flight Stuff.”  A 30-page guide on how to launch your air medical career.
