BISMARCK, ND – Three emergency responders lost in a plane crash last year near Mandan, ND, were honored with an award given in their memory.
The Daughters of Colonial Wars of North Dakota presented Bismarck Air Medical with the American Heroes Award announced Monday.
The award honors emergency medical personnel of Metro Area Ambulance and Bismarck Air Medical, and also pilot Todd Lasky, paramedic Chris Iverson and nurse Bonnie Cook, who died in the Nov. 18 crash in rural Morton County near Harmon Lake.
“The American Heroes Award embodied virtues of duty, courage, patriotism, sacrifice in service to their home, community and county,” the award’s announcement said.
Recipients can be police, firefighters, first responders, active or retired military or community leaders.
Lasky, Iverson and Cook were also honored at the 2019 National EMS Memorial Service in May in Maryland.
