Helicopter crash, Lawton, Oklahoma

LAWTON, Oklahoma –

Four people were aboard a medical helicopter that crashed near a Lawton hospital Thursday morning.

According to Lori Cummins, marketing director for Comanche Memorial Hospital, the Survival Flight medical helicopter crashed on a street near the hospital.

All those on board were members of the flight crew.  Cummins say no patient was in the helicopter at the time.

Three were treated and released and a fourth is still being evaluated in the hospital’s emergency room.  Officials say none of the injuries are serious.

Officials say the company had just gotten its license after the helicopter had been inspected earlier in the week.

The FAA is investigating.
