Helicopter Crash in Lee county

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WKYT)A medical helicopter crashed Tuesday morning in Lee County.

Lee County Ambulance Director Steve McIntosh says all three crew members survived the crash.

McIntosh said the crash happened around 5:30 in the St. Helens community, about four miles east of Beattyville.

The Lee County fire chief said the pilot and one crew member refused treatment. A second crew member was taken to the hospital with leg and chest pain.

The helicopter was approaching a landing zone when it crashed, the fire chief said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is en route to the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
